Job summary

Aureos is looking for an HGV Plant Operator to join our site in Bury St Edmunds. You will inspect the HGV daily, record findings, secure loads and ensure safe loading/unloading in line with company policies.

The role involves planning routes to avoid low bridges, managing driver hours and completing daily risk assessments, while keeping vehicles, PPE and equipment in good condition. You will work with the site team to meet targets and stay compliant.

Responsibilities

• Inspect HGV daily and record findings.

• Ensure loads are secure and route avoids low bridges.
• Comply with Health & Safety policies and risk assessments.
• Manage driver hours and logbooks; complete daily risk assessment.
• Keep vehicles and PPE in good condition; report defects.
• Ensure lifting equipment is suitable and lift plan is prepared.
• Record at least one near-miss per month.
