Job summary

Adur & Worthing Councils is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic to service and maintain the council’s fleet, including refuse and recycling trucks, vans and plant machinery.

The successful candidate must hold City & Guilds or NVQ in vehicle repairs and maintenance and a category C HGV licence with up to three penalty points. A care-leaver interview scheme is noted, with flexible working and generous leave.

Qualifications

• Qualified to City & Guilds or NVQ standard in vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• A category C HGV driving licence with no more than three penalty points is essential for this role.
• Practical experience in Municipal vehicle maintenance (Refuse, Sweepers, LCVs) desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the council’s fleet of vehicles and plant machinery.
• Maintain a wide range of vehicles including refuse and recycling trucks, vans and various plant types.
• Work within a well equipped, busy transport workshop.
