Job summary

First Military Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV & Light Vehicle Technician to join a busy Peterborough workshop. You will service, diagnose and repair HGVs and light vehicles, with MOT preparation and on-call breakdown support.

Applicants should hold City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or proven relevant experience, possess a full UK driving licence, and have strong diagnostic skills. HGV licence training may be available after 6 months.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance, or proven relevant experience.
• Previous motor trade experience within the last 2 years.
• Experience working on HGVs and/or light vehicles.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• HGV Licence desirable but not essential.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair HGVs, light vehicles and trailers.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT.
• Attend roadside breakdowns and disabled vehicles.
• Complete job cards and service documentation accurately.
• Liaise with the parts department to source required parts.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and workshop safety.
• Follow all Health & Safety and customer site requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and attend training courses.

Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV & Light Vehicle Technician to join a growing commercial vehicle workshop in Peterborough. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a range of vehicles and trailers. Diagnostic experience is advantageous, and HGV licence training may be available after 6 months.
