Job summary

Personnel Solutions (Midlands) Limited is seeking an experienced HGV Fitter for our client in Sheffield. You will inspect, repair and maintain heavy vehicles to ensure safety and reliability, diagnosing faults and carrying out servicing and MOT prep.

Role is Monday to Friday 7am-5pm with Saturday 7am-12pm; up to £60k base plus overtime over 40 hours. DVSA standards compliance and accurate maintenance records are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an HGV fitter or commercial vehicle technician.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently in a busy workshop.
• IRTEC accreditation or Class 1 licence add value.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Carry out inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Complete MOT preparation work.
• Ensure all work complies with DVSA standards.
• Accurately complete job cards and maintenance records.
• Minimise vehicle downtime and support operational requirements.

Personnel Solutions is seeking a skilled and motivated HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) Fitter to join our client in Sheffield. In this vital role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining the heavy-duty vehicles to ensure optimal safety, reliability, and performance.

• Up to £60k + Overtime over 40 hours
• Monday to Friday 7am - 5pm
• Saturday 7am-12pm

• Class 1 (C+E) licence desirable
• IRTEC accreditation would be highly advantageous
