We are seeking a skilled and motivated mechanic to join a busy engineering and maintenance team, working on a varied fleet of heavy vehicles, plant machinery and specialist equipment. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business where no two days are the same.
As the HGV & Plant Fitter, you'll be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of a range of HGVs, trailers, agricultural and plant equipment, ensuring machinery remains safe, reliable and operational. Duties will include:
Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs, trailers and plant machinery.
Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and transmission faults.
Conducting fault-finding and root cause analysis to minimise downtime.
Completing repairs both in the workshop and at customer sites when required.
Supporting specialist modifications, upgrades and bespoke engineering projects.
Maintaining accurate service and maintenance records.
Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
Delivering high standards of workmanship and customer service at all times.
We're interested in hearing from candidates with experience in HGV, agricultural, plant, construction equipment or heavy vehicle maintenance. Ideally, you will have:
NVQ Level 3, apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle, Plant or Agricultural Engineering.
Experience maintaining HGVs, trailers, excavators, plant equipment or agricultural machinery.
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
The ability to work independently and make effective repair decisions.
A proactive approach and excellent problem-solving abilities.
Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Full UK Driving Licence.
HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence would be advantageous, but not essential.

Salary: £40-45k basic (up to £19 per hour) depending on experience.
Overtime: Paid at x1.5 Saturdays and x2 on Sundays if worked.
