Job summary

Kautec Recruitment is seeking a fully qualified HGV Fitter/Mechanic/Technician for a mobile service role centred around Sheffield. You will travel to client workshops in a designated area, performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs using a fully equipped van.

The role offers a Monday–Friday day shift with a salary of £40,000–£48,000. Ideally you hold City & Guilds/NVQ and relevant accreditations, with a Class 1/2 license being a plus but not essential.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified HGV fitter with City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent.
• IRTEC or EV qualification desirable; HGV Class 1 or 2 licence is a plus but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance on customer sites.
• Emergency breakdown support.
• Pre-arranged servicing at rural sites.
• Engine work and diagnostic investigations.
• Hydraulics and pneumatics inspections and repairs.
• Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections.

Are you a fully qualified HGV Fitter, HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician living in the Sheffield area looking for a Mobile Service role?

Monday to Friday role. Day shifts

Salary - £40,000 - £48,000

About the role

You will be travelling within a designated area and have use of a fully equipped van. You will be working on a variety of specialised vehicles which could include cargo and ground support equipment, industrial type tractors and tugs/ shunters. It could also involve working at airports, sea ports, main dealers, manufacturing sites or military installations.

We are looking for a self-motivated and independent HGV Fitter, Mechanic, Technician who can travel to our clients various workshops in a designated area conducting:

• Preventative Maintenance
• Emergency Breakdowns
• Pre-arranged servicing at rural sites
• Engine work and diagnostic investigations
• Hydraulics and pneumatics?
• Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections?

Requirements for this Mobile Service Engineer position

Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.

Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or an EV qualification would be desirable, as would an HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence but not essential.

Location & Working Hours

Location: Sheffield and surrounding areas

Day shift: Monday to Friday

48 hours per week, Approx 60% productive
