Job summary

The Lockwood Group in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced HGV Fleet Driver Trainer to develop drivers and promote safe, efficient driving standards across our multi-site operation.

You will conduct practical assessments, coach drivers, and work with the Fleet Team and HR to maintain compliance, fuel efficiency and high safety standards across all sites. Flexible hours and night shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Full UK Category C+E licence held for a minimum of two years and clean or low-endorsement record.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback.
• Patient, supportive coaching approach to develop others.
• Confident using IT systems and training others.

Responsibilities

• Conduct practical driver assessments and provide targeted one-to-one coaching to raise driving standards.
• Identify training needs using driver performance data, telematics and incident data.
• Deliver training on defensive driving, hazard awareness, and fuel-efficient driving.
• Carry out post-incident assessments and remedial training to prevent repeat incidents.
• Promote fuel-efficient driving techniques and safe vehicle operation.
• Train and support drivers on IT systems and driver-related technology.
• Assist with introduction of new systems, processes and tech across sites.
