Job summary

RSD Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Driver Trainer (LGV/HGV) to be based at our Leicester Depot. The role covers recruitment support, inductions, ongoing driver training and continuous improvement in driver performance.

You will deliver a comprehensive 5-day induction, conduct assessments and maintain accurate training records. A Class 2 HGV Licence, Digital Tachograph Card and Driver CPC qualification are required, with flexible hours including occasional nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' HGV driving experience across multiple vehicle types.
• Proven experience conducting driver assessments and training.
• Up-to-date Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.

Responsibilities

• Support recruitment through pre-employment driver assessments.
• Deliver a 5-day Driver Induction programme in line with standards and legislation.
• Provide refresher training to improve driver competence and customer service.
• Maintain driver competence and training records using internal systems.
• Conduct reassessments and retraining after incidents or performance concerns.
• Review driving performance data with depot management and identify improvements.
• Coach drivers to support safe driving practices.
