Job summary

ARC Group is seeking an experienced HGV Driver Trainer to join our team in Immingham. The role is a hands-on position focused on driver assessment, training delivery, and maintaining high safety and efficiency standards. You will split time between on-road training and office-based work.

The ideal candidate has a full HGV Class 1 licence and proven experience in in-cab and classroom training, with knowledge of tachograph rules and telematics. A driver-focused, communicative approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence is required.
• Experience as HGV Driver Trainer or Assessor is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of tachograph laws and drivers' hours.
• Experience delivering in-cab and classroom training.
• Familiarity with Volvo/Mercedes HGVs is advantageous.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• European language knowledge is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assessing HGV drivers and identifying training needs.
• Delivering in-cab and classroom driver training.
• Teaching efficient and economical driving techniques.
• Using telematics data to identify improvement areas.
• Providing guidance on tachograph legislation and hours.
• Training on vehicle defects and daily checks.
• Ensuring adherence to company procedures.
• Supporting driver performance and standards.
• Spending significant time on-road training and assessing drivers.
• Working on-site and from the office as required.
