Job summary

ARC (Norwich) Ltd in Felixstowe is seeking an experienced HGV Driver Trainer to assess and train drivers, improving safety, compliance and driving standards. The role combines on-road training with office-based planning and reporting, delivering in-cab and classroom sessions and using telematics and tachograph data to drive improvements.

The ideal candidate holds a full HGV Class 1 licence and has proven experience training drivers, with strong communication and independent time-management

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence required.
• Experience as HGV Driver Trainer/Assessor or similar role.
• Solid knowledge of tachograph laws and drivers' hours regulations.
• Experience delivering in-cab and classroom training.
• Familiarity with telematics data, fuel performance and driver scoring.

Responsibilities

• Assess HGV drivers and identify training needs.
• Deliver in-cab and classroom driver training.
• Promote efficient and economical driving techniques.
• Use telematics, fuel data and driver scores to drive improvements.
• Train on tachograph legislation and drivers' hours regulations.
• Instruct on vehicle defects, defect reporting and daily checks.
• Ensure adherence to company procedures and safety standards.
• Spend significant time on-road training and assessments.
• Balance on-site and office work as required.
