We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable HGV Driver Trainer to join our team in Immingham.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working with drivers, improving standards and spending plenty of time out on the road. You ll be responsible for assessing drivers, delivering training and helping to maintain high standards of safety, compliance, efficiency and day-to-day driving performance.
As an HGV Driver Trainer, your responsibilities will include:
Assessing HGV drivers and identifying training and development needs
Delivering in-cab and classroom-based driver training
Training drivers in efficient and economical driving techniques
Using telematics data, fuel performance and driver scores to identify areas for improvement
Providing training and guidance on current tachograph legislation and drivers' hours regulations
Training drivers on vehicle defects, defect reporting and daily vehicle checks
Ensuring drivers understand and follow company procedures
Supporting driver performance and helping to improve overall driving standards
Spending significant time out on the road training and assessing drivers
Working both on-site and from the office, depending on the requirements of the role
We're looking for someone with:
A full HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
Previous experience as an HGV Driver Trainer, Assessor or in a similar role
Strong knowledge of tachograph laws and drivers' hours
Experience delivering both in-cab and classroom training
Good knowledge of vehicle defects and daily driver/vehicle procedures
Experience working with Volvo and Mercedes HGVs would be advantageous
A good understanding of telematics, driver performance and fuel-efficient driving
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A professional and approachable manner
The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
The ability to speak a European language is beneficial, particularly when working with a diverse driver workforce, but not required.
£45,000 salary
