Job summary

ARC Group in Felixstowe, Suffolk is seeking an experienced HGV Driver Trainer to join our team. This hands-on role focuses on assessing drivers, delivering training and maintaining high standards of safety and driving performance on road and in the yard.

You will work both on-site and on the road, use telematics and tachograph knowledge, and help drivers improve efficiency and compliance. A full HGV Class 1 licence and prior training experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence is required.
• Experience as HGV Driver Trainer or Assessor is essential.
• Knowledge of tachograph laws and drivers' hours is required.
• Experience delivering both in-cab and classroom training is essential.
• Experience with Volvo/Mercedes HGVs is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assess drivers and identify training and development needs.
• Deliver in-cab and classroom driver training.
• Train drivers in efficient and economical driving techniques.
• Use telematics data and driver scores to identify improvement areas.
• Provide guidance on tachograph legislation and drivers' hours regulations.
• Train drivers on vehicle defects, reporting and daily checks.
• Support driver performance and help raise driving standards.
