Job summary

Kinaxia are seeking an experienced HGV Driver Trainer/Assessor to improve driver standards across the Bristol operation. You’ll work with the existing driving workforce, conducting assessments, training and coaching to raise safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates will have a practical HGV background and qualifications such as A1 Assessor, RTITB, SAFED or Driver CPC training. This role focuses on hands-on development and ongoing professional coaching.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as HGV/LGV Driver Trainer or Assessor.
• Strong practical HGV background.
• Relevant training/assessing qualifications such as A1 Assessor, CAVA, RTITB, SAFED, Train the Trainer, PTLLS/CTLLS or Driver CPC.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out practical HGV driver assessments and competency checks.
• Delivering driver training, coaching and development.
• Supporting new driver inductions and onboarding.
• Identifying areas where individual drivers require additional training.
• Improving driving standards, safety and fuel efficiency.
• Supporting compliance around Drivers’ Hours, Working Time Directive and tachographs.
• Investigating driving-related incidents and providing remedial training where required.
• Maintaining accurate training and assessment records.
• Working alongside the transport management team to improve overall driver performance and compliance.
• Being comfortable working with drivers operating days, nights and tramping routes.

The role: Kinaxia are looking for an experienced HGV Driver Trainer / Assessor to take responsibility for developing, assessing and improving driver standards across the Bristol operation.

You’d be working closely with the existing driving workforce, carrying out driver assessments, practical training, coaching and ongoing development, while helping ensure high standards of safety, compliance and fuel-efficient driving.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out practical HGV driver assessments and competency checks
• Delivering driver training, coaching and development
