Job summary

Driver Hire Preston is recruiting HGV Class 1 Shunter Drivers for Walton Summit Centre near Preston. Newly qualified drivers are welcome. Permanent employment may follow the initial period.

Pay starts at £16.56 per hour Mon-Fri with £24.84 overtime after 37.5 hours; Sundays paid at £33.12 per hour. Working hours are Monday to Friday 14:00–23:00 and every second Sunday 14:00–23:00. Qualifications

• Holds valid UK HGV Class 1 licence (C+E), CPC and Digi Card.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between local depots.
• Assist loading/unloading by locating trailers correctly.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks and report defects.

Location

We are looking for 3 reliable HGV Class 1 Shunter Drivers to join our team at Walton Summit Centre near Preston.

Our client is a well known meat supplier.

We are looking for drivers who want a permanent job at the end of their initial period and when permanently employed, the pay will be.

Mon-Fri £16.56 per hour and £24.84 overtime after 37.5 hours

Sun £33.12 per hour.

Working hours

• Monday to Friday, 14:0-23:00
• Every second Sunday 14:0-23:00

The role

• Safely move and position trailers around the yard.
• Move trailers in between local depots
• Support loading and unloading operations by ensuring trailers are in the correct locations.
• Carry out vehicle safety checks and report any defects.
• Follow site health and safety procedures.

About you

• Hold a valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence, CPC and Digi Card
• Have a responsible approach to safety and good communication skills.
• Be reliable, punctual and comfortable working as part of a team.
