Job summary

Evri in Milton Keynes is hiring an HGV Class 1 Driver for bulk deliveries. You will operate a near-new Volvo fleet, with shifts that are mostly Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week and 9-hour shifts starting around 7–8am.

The role emphasizes safe driving, route planning, and timely delivery to customers. You’ll inspect your vehicle daily, complete defect reports if needed, and assist with scanning consignments as part of a well-supported team.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Class 1 driving licence.
• Driver CPC qualification card.
• Completed DCPC training hours or be working towards them.
• Excellent knowledge of road transport laws and safe driving.

Responsibilities

• Drive a lorry from our Volvo fleet to ensure timely deliveries.
• Work 9-hour shifts, 45 hours per week with early starts at 7–8am.
• Plan routes with typically 4–6 stops per shift and be home after each shift.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily and complete a Defect Report when needed.
• Scan consignments and operate pallet trucks as required.

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and 9-hour shifts per day which typically start at 7/8am. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes. The average number of stops in a shift is 4 to 6, sothere’splenty of time to enjoy being out on the open road - butyou’llstill be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
