Job summary

Evri is seeking a permanent HGV Driver (Class 1) at the Stafford site. The role involves driving a modern Volvo truck, 45 hours per week across Monday to Friday, typically with 9-hour shifts and start times around 5–6pm.

You will join the UK’s premier parcel delivery network, with a focus on reliability and safety. You will work with a disciplined team, perform routine vehicle checks, and support on-time deliveries across our regional routes.

Qualifications

• Class 1 driving licence is a minimum requirement.
• Completed DCPC training hours or working towards them.
• Excellent knowledge of road transport laws and commitment to safe driving.

Responsibilities

• Drive a lorry from our fleet of Volvo vehicles, modern and well-equipped.
• Trunk goods to regional hubs during night shifts.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily; complete defect reports as needed.
• Scan consignments, operate pallet trucks where required.

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and9-hourshifts per day which typically start at5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time.At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
