Job summary

Evri Premium in the East Midlands is seeking a HGV Class 1 Driver for night shifts. You will operate a Volvo lorry from a modern fleet, with 9-hour shifts and 45-hour weeks, usually starting at 5–6pm, and be home after each shift.

You’ll plan routes, trunk to regional hubs, inspect vehicles daily, and complete defect reports. We offer 28 days of annual leave, career progression, and flexible perks including vouchers, insurance, and healthcare.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class 1 licence and Driver CPC.
• DCPC training hours completed or actively progressing.
• Strong working knowledge of Road Transport Laws and road safety.

Responsibilities

• Belt trunk loads to regional hubs on the night shift.
• Drive a Volvo vehicle from the modern fleet and ensure timely deliveries.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily and complete Defect Reports if needed.
• Assist with loading/unloading and operate pallet trucks when required.

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and9-hourshifts per day which typically start at5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time.At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
