Job summary

evri is seeking a HGV Driver - Class 1 in Glasgow. The role offers a permanent, full-time contract with 45 hours per week, predominantly Sunday to Thursday shifts, and a salary of £42,798.20. Expect night trunking, home after each 9-hour shift, and a modern Volvo fleet. Regular lifting and loading may be required.

Ideal candidates hold a Class 1 licence, Driver CPC, and up-to-date DCPC training, with strong knowledge of Road Transport Laws and road safety.

Responsibilities

• Drive a lorry from Volvo fleet and ensure timely deliveries to customers
• Trunking to regional hubs on the night shift; 5 out of 7 days schedule
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily and complete a Defect Report as needed
• Scan consignments and operate pallet trucks where required; assist with loading/unloading when necessary

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and9-hourshifts per day which typically start at5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time.At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
