Job summary

Home Bargains is recruiting experienced HGV Class I drivers to support our Regional Distribution Centre in Amesbury, Wiltshire. You will deliver to Home Bargains stores, completing all relevant paperwork and maintaining vehicle standards.

Applicants should have a valid C+E licence, DCPC, and be at least 25 years old with 12 months of C+E experience for insurance purposes. Full training provided. Days and night shifts available with a 45-hour average week.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E Driving Licence.
• Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) is essential.
• Minimum 25 years of age with at least 12 months' experience in a C+E role for insurance purposes.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles with due care and attention and respect for traffic law, policy and procedure.
• Fully comply with driver hours and regulations.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained to high standard in line with health & safety and company processes.
• Carefully load and unload cages at store with regard to personal safety.
• Carry out regular and thorough vehicle checks.
• Ensure deliveries are made on time and at the right place with accurate paperwork.

Job description

We are now recruiting experiencedHGV Class I Drivers to join our growing Transport Team at our Regional Distribution Centre in Amesbury, Wiltshire.

Applicants will be competent and reliable drivers who will deliver to our network of Home Bargains stores serviced by the distribution centre.

Experience of multi-drop and unloading/loading of roll cages would be an advantage, but not essential as full training is provided.

As this recruitment campaign is to increase the number of drivers, drivers currently working onsite through a contractor or agency will not be considered at this time.

Package

£22.65 per hour (plus 19% night shift premium paid between the hours of 10pm - 6am where applicable)

• Both Days and Night shifts are available

Working an average 45 hours per week, any 5 days out of 7

Job Overview

• Carry out regular and thorough vehicle checks
• Responsible to ensure that deliveries are made on time and at the right place, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately
• Valid C+E Driving Licence
• Current and fully completed Driver Certificate of Professional Competence card (DCPC) is essential
• Minimum 25 years of age with a minimum of 12 months' experience in a C+E role for insurance purposes
• Understanding and working knowledge of WTR; EU driver hours and working time rules
• Task orientated approach
• Health and safety awareness
• Pass internal driver assessment
