Job summary

The Range contract with Gregory Distribution Ltd is seeking a Class 1 Driver to join a 4on 4off days rota from The Range distribution network. Earn £19.50 per hour (£36,382 per annum) with enhanced rates for Christmas and public holidays, and a £1,000 welcome bonus as an added incentive.

You'll deliver goods to retail stores using curtain side, tail lift and box trailers, with typically 1–3 drops per shift, and be supported by ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence.
• Possess a current Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Previous experience delivering to retail, commercial or customer sites is advantageous, although full training can be provided.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and professional communication.
• Have good geographical awareness and the ability to navigate routes across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver goods to retail stores on a dedicated contract using curtain side, tail lift, and box trailers.
• Enjoy a manageable delivery schedule with typically 1 to 3 drops per shift, keeping deliveries on schedule and customers satisfied.
• Ensure loads are safely restrained using straps, nets and securing equipment.
• Safely operate electric‑assisted pallet trucks and perform manual handling as required.
• Manage trailer movements and return trailers for servicing at shift end.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks and use company phone for updates.
• Maintain communication with transport office to provide real-time delivery progress.
• Represent the company professionally at delivery points and build relationships with store teams.
• Participate in ongoing training and regulatory updates.

About The Role

• Deliver goods to retail stores on a dedicated contract using curtain side, tail lift, and box trailers, while returning store waste to the depot.
• Enjoy a manageable delivery schedule with typically 1 to 3 drops per shift, keeping deliveries on schedule and customers satisfied.
• Ensure all loads are safely and securely restrained using straps, nets, and appropriate securing equipment to prevent movement or damage during transit.
• Safely operate electric‑assisted pallet trucks and carry out manual handling for cage‑based deliveries when required, ensuring efficient and safe unloading at customer sites.
• Manage trailer movements, including the collection and return of trailers for servicing at the end of each shift.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport office to provide updates on delivery progress and respond to any changes or issues in real time.
• Represent the company professionally at every delivery point, ensuring excellent customer service and building strong relationships with store teams.
• Participate in ongoing training and development, including refresher courses and updates on industry regulations, to keep your skills sharp and compliant.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence.
• Possess a current Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Previous experience delivering to retail, commercial or customer sites is advantageous, although full training can be provided.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and build positive relationships with customers.
• Be capable of working to planned schedules and delivery deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
• Bring a positive, reliable and team-focused approach, with the confidence to work independently when required.
• Have good geographical awareness and the ability to navigate routes efficiently across the UK.
