Job summary

HG Recruitment has a live opportunity at the GXO Sainsbury's site in Waltham Abbey for experienced Class 1 HGV drivers. You will trunk and deliver store orders, handling ambient, chilled, and frozen goods with strict compliance.

Shifts are ongoing with days and nights available, guaranteed 9.6 hours per shift, and overtime after 48 hours. Competitive pay from £25.18 per hour with pension and driver support.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence with 12+ months' experience.
• Max 6 points on licence (minor endorsements only).
• Valid Digital Tachograph & Driver CPC.
• Strong knowledge of Driver’s Hours and Working Time Directive.
• Good route planning and geographical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Trunking and store deliveries to GXO/Sainsbury's network.
• Deliver ambient, chilled and frozen goods.
• Ensure compliance with site and transport regulations.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism and customer service.

HGV Class 1 Driver – Store Delivery | Waltham Abbey, Essex
Ongoing | Days and nights available
Pay Rates: £25.18 – £53.17 per hour (depending on shift)

****Expected minimum annual gross earnings £72,014****** We are recruiting professional CLASS 1 HGV DRIVERS for our GXO SAINSBURY'S site in WALTHAM ABBEY. You’ll be responsible for trunking and store deliveries, supporting the wider network by delivering ambient, chilled, and frozen goods. High standardsof compliance and professionalism are a must.

Driver Requirements:

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence with a minimum of 12 months’ experience


• Maximum of 6 points on your licence (minor endorsements only)


• Valid Digital Tachograph & Driver CPC


• Strong understanding of Driver’s Hours, Working Time Directive & road transport regulations


• Ability to adhere to strict site and store risk assessments


• Knowledge of using Microlise is a plus


• No Sat Nav use – must have strong route planning and geographical knowledge


• Be aware of any vehicle defects and bring to the attention of Transport Office as necessary


• Possess excellent customer facing awareness skills


• Be a good timekeeper and be able to work unsupervised


• Possess an Enthusiastic and reliable attitude towards delivering first class customer service


• Must have good communication skills and a flexible can-do attitude to work
