Home Bargains is seeking a Transport Team Manager at the Omega Distribution Centre to ensure the Transport operation runs smoothly across our distribution network, coordinating with warehouse activities and stores.

You will coach the Transport team to meet KPI targets, optimise vehicle resources, and uphold health, safety and regulatory standards, while working with Operations and Shift Managers.

The role includes shift patterns of 4 on 4 off, 12-hour nights, with generous leave and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a large team of drivers in a fast-paced warehouse/distribution.
• Proficiency with transport planning systems Paragon and Microlise.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and transport regulations.
• Ability to organise and prioritise workload.

Responsabilités

• Resource Management: Effectively manage the daily transport schedule, ensuring stock is delivered to stores safely and on time in a cost-effective way.
• Leadership: Lead by example by guiding and coaching the Transport team to meet KPI targets and standards.
• Reporting: Log vehicle issues, perform vehicle checks and escalate capacity issues to management.
• Investigations and Wellbeing: Investigate infringements, report on accidents, and conduct driver wellbeing checks.

About this job

As a Transport Team Manager, you will form part of central team supporting across our Distribution network at our cutting-edge Omega Distribution Centre, located at the Omega Business Park just off Junction 8 of the M
62. You will be responsible for ensuring all elements of the Transport operation run effectively and efficiently to provide the best service to our stores; this includes working across all areas of the warehouse operation.

Additionally, you will coach and lead the Transport team to deliver shift KPI’s, strive to deliver high standards and optimise vehicle resources while adhering to health, safety, and regulatory standards.

Forming part of the Leadership team, you will work collaboratively with Operations and Shift Managers across all functions to ensure consistent delivery of the Transport operation.

You will play a role in implementing changes to ways of working to drive continuous improvements within the team and wider business.

Package Salary & Hours £38,965.90 per annum plus 19% NSA between 10pm to 6am Average
39.48 hours per week. 4 on 4 off - 12 hour night shifts (45 minute unpaid break). Employee Benefits Full-time employees receive 28 days of annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), increasing to 33 days after 5 years of service.

Annual leave is pro-rated for part-time or alternative working arrangements.
