Job summary

Think Recruitment requires a HGV Class 2 driver for a temporary ongoing role in Brentwood. You will drive refuse collection vehicles, perform domestic waste collections, and assist loading while adhering to health and safety guidelines.

The position offers 37 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 7:30am–3:30pm), start ASAP, and pay at £20.78 per hour with weekly umbrella payment. Prior experience is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Must hold a valid CPC qualification.
• Must hold a valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous refuse, waste collection or HGV driving experience is desirable.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Physically fit and comfortable assisting with refuse loading.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Drive HGV Class 2 refuse collection vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Carry out domestic waste and recycling collections across scheduled routes.
• Assist with loading refuse and recycling into the collection vehicle.
• Ensure bins and receptacles are handled safely and returned appropriately.
• Complete collections in a professional and timely manner.
• Work as part of a team to maintain an efficient waste collection service.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety procedures.
• Report any vehicle, equipment or collection issues to the relevant supervisor.
