The ideal candidate will have a valid HGV Class 2 licence, Digital Tachograph Card, and experience driving in urban environments. Nights may be required on occasion, with a 40-hour week and a pay rate of £15.31 per hour in

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 licence (Category C).

• Water Jetting Association qualification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 2 gully tanker to perform scheduled emptying and cleaning.
• Clear and jet blocked gullies and drains across highways, residential areas, and commercial premises.
• Use specialist jetting equipment and tools to remove blockages.
• Record and report completed work using in-cab technology.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and maintain safety standards.
• Work as part of a team to complete maintenance tasks.
• Follow health and safety procedures.

Job description

Driver Hire Stockport is currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Gully Tanker Driver to work on behalf of one of our established clients based in the Stockport area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and experienced Class 2 driver to join a busy highways maintenance operation, carrying out essential drainage and gully cleaning services across the local area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a specialist gully tanker vehicle, maintaining highway drainage systems and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating a Class 2 gully tanker vehicle to carry out scheduled highway gully emptying and cleaning.
• Clearing and jetting blocked gullies and drains across highways, residential areas and commercial premises.
• Using specialist jetting equipment and tools to remove blockages.
• Operating in-cab technology to record and report completed work.
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and ensuring all equipment is operated safely.
• Working effectively as part of a team to complete scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Following all relevant health and safety procedures.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must have:

• A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card and knowledge of its correct use.
• Previous experience operating HGV vehicles in residential and urban areas.
• Knowledge of Chapter 8 traffic management requirements.
• A recognised Water Jetting Association qualification.
• Experience operating gully tankers or similar specialist drainage vehicles is highly desirable.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• A reliable, professional attitude with a strong focus on health and safety.
• £15.31 per hour
• 40 hours per week
• Monday to Friday, 06:15 – 14:30
• Requirement to work up to four weeks of night shifts when necessary.
