Job summary

Driver Hire Stockport is currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Gully Tanker Driver to work on behalf of an established client in the Stockport area.

The role involves operating a specialist gully tanker, carrying out drainage and gully cleaning across local highways, with a strong emphasis on health and safety and teamwork. Monday to Friday, 06:15–14:30, with occasional night shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card and knowledge of its use.
• Experience operating HGVs in residential and urban areas.
• Knowledge of Chapter 8 traffic management requirements.
• Water Jetting Association qualification.
• Experience operating gully tankers or similar drainage vehicles.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Reliable, professional attitude with a strong focus on health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Operating a Class 2 gully tanker vehicle to carry out scheduled highway gully emptying and cleaning.
• Clearing and jetting blocked gullies and drains across highways, residential areas and commercial premises.
• Using specialist jetting equipment and tools to remove blockages.
• Operating in-cab technology to record and report completed work.
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and ensuring all equipment is operated safely.
• Working effectively as part of a team to complete scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Following all relevant health and safety procedures.

Driver Hire Stockport is currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Gully Tanker Driver to work on behalf of one of our established clients based in the Stockport area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and experienced Class 2 driver to join a busy highways maintenance operation, carrying out essential drainage and gully cleaning services across the local area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a specialist gully tanker vehicle, maintaining highway drainage systems and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating a Class 2 gully tanker vehicle to carry out scheduled highway gully emptying and cleaning.
• Clearing and jetting blocked gullies and drains across highways, residential areas and commercial premises.
• Using specialist jetting equipment and tools to remove blockages.
• Operating in-cab technology to record and report completed work.
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and ensuring all equipment is operated safely.

Requirements:

• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• A reliable, professional attitude with a strong focus on health and safety.

Working Hours & Pay

• £15.31 per hour
• 40 hours per week
• Monday to Friday, 06:15 - 14:30
• Requirement to work up to four weeks of night shifts when necessary.
