Job summary

Glass Company Portsmouth is seeking an experienced Class 2 driver to join our team in Portsmouth. You will deliver glass products safely and efficiently to customers across Portsmouth and surrounding areas, ensuring fragile loads are handled with care.

This permanent role requires a Class 2 licence, CPC, and Tacho, with previous commercial driving experience. Excellent safety focus and customer service are essential, with a reliable and professional approach to work.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (HGV/Cat C) driving licence and CPC/Tacho Card.
• Previous commercial driving experience.
• Experience handling glass or fragile goods is advantageous.
• Excellent driving skills with a strong focus on safety and good customer service.

Responsibilities

• Load, transport and deliver glass products safely to customers.
• Secure products for transportation and handle fragile goods.
• Complete vehicle checks and report defects.
• Deliver across Portsmouth and surrounding areas on time.
• Provide excellent customer service at each delivery and complete paperwork.
• Follow health and safety regulations and company procedures.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 2 (Cat C) Driver to join our customer, a well-established glass company based in Portsmouth.

This is a fantastic permanent opportunity for a professional Class 2 driver looking to join a stable and reputable business, delivering glass products safely and efficiently to customers across Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.

Requirements:

• Valid Class 2 (HGV/LGV, Category C) driving licence
• Valid CPC and Tacho Card
• Previous commercial driving experience
• Experience handling and delivering glass, fragile goods or specialist products would be advantageous
• Excellent driving skills with a strong focus on safety
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Physically fit, as manual handling will be involved
• Reliable, professional and responsible approach to work

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely load, transport and deliver glass products to customers
• Ensure all products are secured correctly for transportation
• Take care when loading, unloading and handling fragile goods
• Complete vehicle checks and report any defects
• Deliver goods safely and on time across Portsmouth and surrounding areas
• Provide excellent customer service at each delivery
• Complete all relevant delivery paperwork and documentation
• Follow all company procedures and health and safety regulations
