Job summary

Driver Hire Portsmouth is seeking an experienced Class 2 (Cat C) driver for a builders merchant in Portsmouth. This temp-to-perm role offers long-term prospects and a route across Portsmouth and surrounding areas.

You will hold a valid Class 2 licence, CPC and Tachograph Card, plus have solid customer service skills and a professional attitude. Immediate start available for the right candidate. Expect consistent weekday hours and a supportive recruitment team throughout your assignment.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (HGV/LGV, Category C) driving licence.
• Valid CPC and Tacho Card.
• Previous commercial driving experience.
• Experience delivering building materials or similar is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, transport and deliver building materials to customers.
• Carry out deliveries to building sites, trade customers and private customers.
• Assist with loading and unloading goods where required.
• Complete vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is operated safely at all times.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
• Follow all relevant company and road safety procedures.
• Work efficiently to meet scheduled delivery times.

This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate, delivering building materials to customers across Portsmouth and the surrounding areas. Requirements

• Valid Class 2 (HGV/LGV, Category C) driving licence
• Valid CPC and Tacho Card
• Previous commercial driving experience

• Good knowledge of Portsmouth and surrounding areas
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Physically fit, as some manual handling will be involved
• A professional and reliable approach to work
