Job summary

Driver Hire Portsmouth is seeking an experienced Class 2 driver to join our Portsmouth-based team for permanent, local pallet deliveries. You will safely load, transport and hand over palletised goods to customers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.

The role requires a valid Class 2 licence with CPC and Tacho, plus prior commercial driving experience. A reliable, customer-focused attitude and good knowledge of the local area are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 driving licence (HGV/C Category C) with CPC and Tacho Card.
• Previous commercial driving experience.
• Experience delivering palletised goods is essential.
• Good knowledge of Portsmouth and surrounding areas is advantageous.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Physically fit with ability to perform manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, transport and deliver palletised goods to customers.
• Carry out deliveries across Portsmouth and surrounding areas.
• Ensure goods are delivered safely and securely.
• Assist with loading and unloading where required.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Provide excellent customer service at each delivery.
• Complete all delivery paperwork accurately and on time.
• Comply with company, road safety and transport regulations.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 2 (Cat C) Driver to join our customer, a well-established business based in Portsmouth.

This is a fantastic permanent opportunity for an experienced Class 2 driver who is looking for a stable, long-term position delivering palletised goods to customers across Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.

Requirements
