Job summary

Smart Solutions in Hartlepool advertises for HGV Class 2 Refuse Collection Vehicle drivers to join a busy waste management team. You will collect commercial, general and food waste, working with a Loader and assisting with loading as needed to hit daily targets.

The role requires a valid Class 2 licence, CPC and digital tachograph card, with a minimum of one year experience. Early morning starts, full-time with potential permanent placement and weekly pay are offered.

The Role

We are currently recruiting for HGV Class 2 Refuse Collection Vehicle (RCV) Drivers to join our client's growing waste management team.

This role involves collecting commercial waste, general waste and food waste from a variety of business customers, ensuring collections are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard of customer service.

You will be accompanied by a dedicated Loader, however this is a physically active role and drivers are expected to assist with loading and collections when required to help the team complete the daily schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 2 Refuse Collection Vehicle (RCV).
• Complete scheduled collections of commercial, general and food waste.
• Assist the Loader with manual handling and loading duties as required.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections and defect reporting.Follow planned collection routes while maintaining excellent customer service.
• Ensure compliance with all road transport, health & safety and environmental legislation.
• Complete all relevant paperwork or electronic records accurately.

What We're Looking For

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Min 1 year HGV Class 2 experience
• Previous RCV or waste industry experience is desirable but not essential.
• A positive, team-focused attitude with a willingness to get involved in all aspects of the role.
• Good understanding of driver hours and vehicle safety.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work early morning starts.
