Job summary

Expect Distribution Limited is hiring a HGV Class 2 Driver for local UK routes with a 07:00–18:15 shift, Monday–Friday. Salary is £39,000 per year, with overtime at 1.5x on Saturdays and 2x on Sundays. The role is permanent, based in Bradford (BD6 1DW).

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a HGV Class 2 vehicle.
• Deliver and collect goods according to planned routes and schedules.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
• Ensure loads are secure and transported safely.
• Complete delivery paperwork and digital records accurately.
• Comply with drivers’ hours, tachograph and Working Time Directive rules.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness.
• Communicate with planners, customers and depot staff.

PositionOverview:

We are hiring a HGV Class 2 Driver, who will be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods to designated locations. The role requires compliance with road traffic laws, company procedures, and health & safety regulations, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service.

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday// 07:00/07:30 - 17:45/18:15 // No nights out - local work (50 hours)
Salary: £39,000 // OT 1.5x Saturday + 2x Sunday // salary paid monthly
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: BD6 1DW (Bradford)

Key Responsibilities:

• Subsequently working in a responsible manner that complies with and increases product safety and quality
• Safely operate a HGV Class 2 vehicle
• Deliver and collect goods according to planned routes and schedules
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly
• Ensure loads are secure and transported safely
• Complete delivery paperwork and digital records accurately
• Comply with EU/UK drivers’ hours, tachograph, and Working Time Directive rules
• Maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle
• Communicate effectively with transport planners, customers, and depot staff

Role Requirements:

• Valid HGV licence Class 2
• Digital tachograph card
• Good knowledge of road safety and transport regulations
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and responsibly
• Good geographical knowledge or ability to use navigation systems
• Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks where required
