Job summary

Expect Logistics is hiring an HGV Class 1 Driver for a permanent role based at our Bradford depot (BD6 1DW). The role combines Class 1 and Class 2 driving, requiring adherence to safety rules, accurate paperwork, and excellent customer service.

Shift pattern is Monday–Friday with regular mornings; salary is quoted with monthly pay and overtime options on weekends. Benefits include pension, healthcare and on-site facilities.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1/2 licence (valid)
• Driver CPC qualification (valid)
• Digital tachograph card (valid)
• Good knowledge of road safety and transport regulations
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and responsibly
• Good geographical knowledge or navigation system proficiency
• Physically fit for manual tasks when required

Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGVs (Class 1 & 2 as applicable)
• Deliver and collect goods per planned routes and schedules
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects
• Ensure loads are secure and transported safely
• Complete delivery paperwork and digital records accurately
• Comply with drivers' hours, tachograph and Working Time rules
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness
• Communicate effectively with planners, customers and depot staff

Position Overview:

We are hiring a HGV Class 1 Driver, who will be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods to designated locations. This role requires a mixture of Class 1 and Class 2 driving.

The role requires compliance with road traffic laws, company procedures, and health & safety regulations, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service.

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday // start time between 7am&7.30am and finish between 17.45pm&18.15pm
Salary: £42,250.00 // Cover pay is £12.00 per day // Overtime at 1.5x on a Saturday and 2x on a Sunday // salary paid monthly

Key Responsibilities:

• Subsequently working in a responsible manner that complies with and increases product safety and quality

Role Requirements:

• Valid HGV Class 1 & 2 licence
• Valid Driver CPC qualification
• Digital tachograph card
• Good knowledge of road safety and transport regulations
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and responsibly
• Good geographical knowledge or ability to use navigation systems
• Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks where required
