Job summary

Expect Distribution Limited is seeking a HGV Class 1 Driver (Tramper) in Leeds. You will operate a Class 1 vehicle across planned routes, perform daily checks, and ensure safe loading and unloading, while maintaining up-to-date records and working within driving hours regulations.

The role offers competitive hourly rates with enhanced weekend pay and monthly salary payments, plus a welcome bonus scheme. Applicants must have a C+E licence and CPC, with flexibility to work weekdays and Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence with C+E entitlement.
• Digital tachograph card.
• Driver Qualification Card (CPC).
• Flexibility to work Monday to Saturday, including nights out.
• No more than 6 penalty points (certain endorsements not accepted, e.g. DR).
• Minimum age of 22 (insurance requirements).

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a HGV Class 1 vehicle.
• Deliver and collect goods according to planned routes and schedules.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
• Ensure loads are secure and transported safely.
• Complete delivery paperwork and digital records accurately.
• Comply with EU/UK drivers’ hours, tachograph, and Working Time Directive rules.
• Maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle.
• Communicate effectively with transport planners, customers, and depot staff.

Position Overview

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday // Occassional Saturdays // nights out included
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: LS15 8AF (Leeds)
Salary: We offer competitive hourly rates with enhanced weekend pay // salary paid monthly

• Monday–Friday: £15.03 per hour
• Saturday: £16.53 per hour
• Sunday: £17.53 per hour

Average Earning (Guide Only)

Our drivers typically work around 12.1 hours per shift, which can add approximately:

• £31.56 per day
• £8206.38 per year
