Job summary

Expect Distribution Limited in Leeds is recruiting a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our operations team. You will safely operate a Class 1 vehicle, deliver and collect goods on planned routes, carry out daily checks and ensure loads are secure, with accurate paperwork and compliance with drivers’ hours rules.

We offer a permanent contract with hourly pay around £14.03–£17.53, enhanced weekend rates, monthly salary payments, a £1,250 welcome bonus, and a range of benefits including pension,

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence with C+E entitlement.
• Digital tachograph card.
• Driver Qualification Card (CPC).
• Flexibility to work Monday to Saturday.
• Minimum age of 22 (insurance requirements).
• No more than 6 penalty points (DR not accepted).

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a HGV Class 1 vehicle.
• Deliver and collect goods according to planned routes and schedules.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
• Ensure loads are secure and transported safely.
• Complete delivery paperwork and digital records accurately.
• Comply with EU/UK drivers’ hours, tachograph, and Working Time Directive rules.
• Maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle.
• Communicate effectively with transport planners, customers, and depot staff.

About Us:

Salary: We offer competitive hourly rates with enhanced weekend pay // salary paid monthly

• Monday–Friday: £15.03 per hour
• Saturday: £16.53 per hour
• Sunday: £17.53 per hour

Average Earning (Guide Only)
Our drivers typically work around 12.1 hours per shift, which can add approximately:

• £31.56 per day
• £8206.38 per year

Please note: These figures are based on recent averages and are intended as a guide only — actual earnings will vary.

Newly Qualified Driver Pay Structure: 1 month - £14.03 // 3 months - £15.03 (full rate)
