Job summary

Qualifications

• Good geographical knowledge or ability to use navigation systems.
• Physically fit for manual tasks.

Responsibilities

• Comply with BRCGS (food and drink) and GDP (medicine) guidelines following training.
• Subsequently working in a responsible manner that complies with and increases product safety and quality.
• Safely operate a HGV Class 1 vehicle.
• Deliver and collect goods according to planned routes and schedules.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
• Ensure loads are secure and transported safely.
• Complete delivery paperwork and digital records accurately.
• Comply with EU/UK drivers’ hours, tachograph, and Working Time Directive rules.
• Maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle.
• Communicate effectively with transport planners, customers, and depot staff.

Position Overview:

We are hiring a reliable and hardworking HGV Class 1 Driver (tramping) who will be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods to designated locations. The role requires compliance with road traffic laws, company procedures, and health & safety regulations, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service.

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday // Nights out included //55 hours
Salary: £46,475.00 p/a // Night out allowance of £26.20 per night // Early start payment £40.00 (salary paid monthly) Contract Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence

• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and responsibly
• Good geographical knowledge or ability to use navigation systems
• Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks where required
