Job summary

Workmate Agency in Oxford (OX4) is recruiting a HGV Class 2 Driver for a leading waste management client. This role offers guaranteed hours and potential for a permanent position, with weekly pay and a £500 sign-on bonus (T&C applies).

Pay rate is £18.00 per hour, with overtime paid at 1.5x. Shifts are Mon-Fri; AM and PM slots available. The position is based in Oxford, OX4 and includes a temporary-to-permanent pathway.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 driving experience required.
• Valid tachograph card and CPC card.
• Professional waste management service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive the refuse collection lorry and collect/empty bins from residential and commercial premises.
• Operate safely with loaders and other road users.
• Maintain awareness of traffic and pedestrians while on route.

Workmate Agency are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Driver to join our successful client based in the Oxford, OX4 area.

Job location: Oxford, OX4

Pay rate: £18.00 per hour - weekly pay in arrears, every Friday

Overtime: paid at 1.5 rate - time and a half

Schedule: Monday to Friday morning and back shift available

• AM shift - 5am till 1pm
• PM shift - 12.30pm till 7pm

Duties & Responsibilities

• The right person will be responsible for driving the refuse collection lorry and collecting/emptying bins from residential and commercial premises with the assistance of loaders.
• A minimum of 90 days experience within the last 6 months on HGV Class 2 driving is essential.
• Drive and operate a class 2 refuse lorry
• Collect refuse from a different local area each day of the week
• Assist with manually moving domestic wheelie bins
• Maintain awareness of other vehicles or people on the road and operate the lorry safely

Person Specification

• UK HGV Class 2 driving licence (minimum 6 months)
• Digital tachograph card & CPC card
• Ability to provide a professional waste management service to residential customers
• Excellent, professional work ethic
• Ability to adapt quickly to a fast paced, dynamic work environment
• Previous experience within a waste & recycling industrial environment would be an advantage
