Job summary

Smart Solutions is recruiting HGV Class 2 Drivers to join a busy waste and recycling operation in Leicester. This role offers a 4-day working week with a 3-day weekend, guaranteed hours, and weekly pay every Friday. The position is based in Leicester (LE4) with a shift pattern Tuesday to Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm.

£1,000 joining bonus is available, with £500 after 6 weeks and £500 after 12 weeks, plus additional bonuses at 4 and 8 weeks. We value Armed Forces personnel and offer ongoing support.

Qualifications

• Valid UK HGV Class 2 Licence
• Driver CPC Qualification Card
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to work outdoors
• Previous waste and recycling experience is beneficial but not essential

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle
• Work alongside loaders to complete daily collection routes
• Ensure bins are emptied and returned safely to designated locations
• Complete all scheduled collections and assist with missed bins where required
• Carry out vehicle checks and report any defects
• Follow all health and safety, road traffic and operational procedures

The Role

As a Class 2 Refuse Driver, you will operate a refuse collection vehicle while working as part of a team to provide domestic waste collections across residential areas.
