Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are recruiting on behalf of our client based in the Leicester area for multiple HGV Class 2 drivers. Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00am starts. Job Type: Temp to perm.

6-8 deliveries and 4-5 collections per shift, with manual handling of parcels at depots and customer locations. You will work with devices to update delivery statuses, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintain safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Full UK licence with Class 2 entitlement (CAT C) and relevant driving duties.
• At least 1 year of HGV driving experience is needed.
• Valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph card are required.
• Max 6 points on licence; minor offences only.
• Knowledge of Working Time Directive (WTD) legislation is essential.

Responsibilities

• 6–8 deliveries and 4–5 collections per shift.

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections for roadworthiness.
• Adhere to traffic laws, safety policies and company standards.

• Manual handling heavily involved including loading and unloading parcels at depots and customer locations.
• Handling devices and company software to update delivery statuses
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring road worthiness and compliance with company standards.
• Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.
• Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:

• Full UK licence with Class 2 entitlement (CAT C).
• 1 year experience required.
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
