Job summary

People Solutions is hiring an HGV Class 2 Driver for Livingston on a full-time, ongoing basis. You will earn £15.25 per hour with a Monday-Friday pattern and weekly pay.

Newly qualified HGV Class 2 drivers are welcome to apply, subject to an on-site driving assessment. The role involves delivering palletised goods across the local area and completing around 14 drops per day.

• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.

Responsibilities

• Deliver palletised goods to customers in the local area.
• Complete ~14 drops per day.
• Carrying out kerbside deliveries.
• Use tail lifts and forklift unloading facilities at delivery points.
• Operate an electric pallet truck safely.
• Unload goods safely with minimal manual handling.
• Complete daily vehicle safety checks and delivery paperwork.
• Provide excellent customer service at delivery locations.

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Livingston on a full-time, ongoing basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering £15.25 per hour, consistent Monday to Friday working, weekly pay, no handballing and ongoing opportunities within a reputable transport operation. Newly qualified HGV Class 2 Drivers are welcome to apply, subject to successfully completing an on-site driving assessment.

This position is ideal for applicants who have previously worked as an HGV Class 2 Driver, LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver, Rigid Lorry Driver or Multi-Drop Delivery Driver.

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, your duties will include:

• Delivering palletised goods to customers throughout the local area
• Completing approximately 14 drops per day
• Carrying out kerbside deliveries
• Using tail lifts and forklift unloading facilities at delivery points
• Operating an electric pallet truck safely and efficiently
• Ensuring goods are unloaded safely without manual handballing
• Completing daily vehicle safety checks and delivery paperwork
• Providing excellent customer service at all delivery locations
• Following transport legislation, Drivers' Hours Regulations and company procedures

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will need:

• Valid UK Category C driving licence
• Valid Driver CPC qualification card
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Willingness to complete an on-site driving assessment if newly qualified
• Reliable and punctual approach to work
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Good understanding of driver regulations and tachograph legislation
• Ability to complete multi-drop deliveries safely and efficiently

Desirable Experience

• Previous HGV Class 2 driving experience
• Previous multi-drop or palletised goods delivery experience
• Experience using tail lifts or electric pallet trucks
