Job summary

HG Recruitment is seeking Class 2 HGV drivers for Barrow-in-Furness. Shifts are days with 9-hour shifts across ~45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, starting around 06:30–07:00.

Role involves multi-drop deliveries to retail, hospitality and business customers and requires a valid HGV Class 2 licence, CPC, and tachograph card. You will load/unload, perform vehicle checks and ensure accurate paperwork, while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence and CPC qualification.
• Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Experience with multi-drop deliveries and good local route knowledge.
• Strong customer service and professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Carry out multi-drop deliveries to retail, hospitality and business customers.
• Safely operate a Class 2 vehicle following road and safety regulations.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Load and unload goods, with manual handling as needed.
• Ensure deliveries are accurate and paperwork is complete.
• Provide excellent customer service at delivery points.
• Follow planned routes and delivery schedules.
• Comply with tachograph regulations and working time directives.

Looking for reliable HGV driving work in Barrow-in-Furness Join HG Recruitment and benefit from competitive pay, weekly wages and regular shifts with our established client.

Pay Rates: Including holiday pay Days

Class 2 Day Driver

• Hours: 06.30 – 07:00 starts
• Rate: £24.30 per hour (Holiday pay inclusive)
• Rate 2: £21.50 per hour (Holiday accrued)
• Store delivers and collections 2-3 drops per shift
• Full training/induction provided as required
• Based on a 55 week inclusive of breaks.

Estimated pay £24.30 per hour would work out £1,084.05 gross pay per week or an annual salary of £56,370.60 (Rolled up pay).

OR option 2:

£21.50 per hour with your holiday pay and you accrue 2.3 days holiday per month. Weekly pay is £967.50 gross pay or £50,310 per year.

The role

Requirements

• Strong communication and customer service skills
