Job summary

Lanes Group PLC in Crawley is seeking an HGV Class 2 Drainage Engineer for our Patch and Lining team under the Southern Water contract. You will work in two‑person crews from our Crawley depot, delivering first‑time repairs and drainage solutions across the region.

The role requires a CPC and digi tachograph card, with training provided. You will operate with strong health & safety discipline and customer service focus in a challenging outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum HGV Class 2 licence, CPC and digi tachograph card required.
• Confined Space Entry training (AP2) is an advantage.
• Experience with high pressure jetting helpful but not essential.
• Knowledge of NRSWA and OS19X is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travelling to residential sites via a two-person team in a company van around the region.
• Repair and maintain drainage systems, installing patch linings for first-time sewer/drain repairs.
• Use Picote system to remove scale, roots, and obstructions that jetting cannot.
• Survey drainage networks and assess pipe conditions to produce high-quality reports.
• Record each job report on specialist equipment and liaise with the client on progress.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain health and safety practices.
• Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished; comply with PPE and safe-site protocols.
• Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms; conduct risk assessments as needed.
• Assist colleagues and conduct thorough inspections of tools and equipment.
