BOC Gases in Wolverhampton is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 ADR driver to join its national distribution network. You will deliver and collect on scheduled routes, maintaining tachograph records and adhering to ADR regulations while upholding safety and customer service standards.

Pertemps Wolverhampton is currently recruiting for a professional and reliable HGV Class 2 ADR Driver for one of our most prestigious national clients, BOC Gases, the largest provider of industrial, medical and special gases in the UK and Ireland. This role requires a high level of attention to safety, the ability to navigate scheduled multi-drop routes, and the safe handling and transportation of hazardous materials in strict compliance with current transport laws and ADR regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Dangerous Goods Transport: Operate commercial vehicles safely, strictly adhering to full ADR regulations and all relevant safety guidelines.
• Deliveries & Collections: Complete scheduled multi-drop deliveries and collections to various commercial, retail and industrial premises.
• Vehicle Compliance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects immediately to the transport office.
• Manual Handling: Securely fasten all cargo, which may involve the manual handling of gas cylinders or specialised waste containers.
• Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain tachograph records, delivery notes and all required dangerous goods documentation.
• Customer Service: Maintain a professional and courteous approach when dealing with customers and represent BOC Gases positively at all times.
• Health & Safety: Follow all site, company and legal health and safety procedures when loading, transporting and unloading dangerous goods.

Requirements

• Licence: Valid UK HGV/LGV Class 2 (Cat C) licence.
• Qualifications: Current and in-date Driver Qualification Card (CPC) and Digital Tachograph Card.
• ADR Certification: Must hold a valid ADR certificate covering Class 2 - Gases in Packages.
• Experience: Ideally, a minimum of 3 years holding the relevant licence and at least 180 days of driving experience within the past 2 years.
• Licence Cleanliness: Maximum of 3 penalty points. No active CU80, MS90, CD, DR, DD, IN or TT endorsements due to insurance restrictions.
• Assessment & Checks: Willing to undertake a driving assessment, DBS criminal records check and Drug & Alcohol test.
• Professional Standards: Strong commitment to safety, compliance, customer service and responsible driving.
