Job summary

H&G Recruitment Solutions is seeking an HGV Class 2 Driver for day shifts in Newton Le Willows. The role involves multi-drop deliveries to retail and business customers, safely operating a Class 2 vehicle, and completing daily vehicle checks with accurate paperwork.

You must have a valid HGV Class 2 license, CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card, with good knowledge of local road networks and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• CPC qualification required.
• Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Experience with multi-drop deliveries preferred.
• Good knowledge of local road networks.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Physically fit for manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Carry out multi-drop deliveries to retail, hospitality and business customers.
• Safely operate a Class 2 vehicle in line with road and safety regulations.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Load and unload goods, often involving manual handling.
• Ensure deliveries are accurate and documented correctly.
• Provide excellent customer service at delivery points.
• Follow planned routes and delivery schedules.
• Adhere to driving laws, working time directives and tachograph regulations.

RATES HGV Class 2

• Days : £16.81 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay

****Estimated weekly pay based on 45 hours £756.45****

DUTIES

• Carry out multi-drop deliveries to retail, hospitality, and business customers
• Safely operate a Class 2 vehicle in line with road and safety regulations
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects
• Load and unload goods, often involving manual handling
• Ensure all deliveries are accurate and supported by correct paperwork
• Provide excellent customer service at delivery points
• Follow planned routes and delivery schedules
• Adhere to all driving laws, working time directives, and tachograph regulations

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Valid CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience (ideally in a cash & carry or FMCG environment)
• Good knowledge of local road networks
• Physically fit due to manual handling requirements
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
