Job summary

DSV Road GmbH is recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver at the Mercia Park site. This tramp job includes variable nights away in the vehicle with night out payments and meal allowance.

Fleet comprises MAN, VOLVO and IVECO trucks, including new Volvo BEV vehicles, all maintained locally. Responsibilities include loading, securing and unloading cargo, completing paperwork, and ensuring compliance with Working Time Directive and transport regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Must hold a valid HGV Class 1 licence with max 6 points.
• Must hold a valid Digicard and Driver CPC.
• Good understanding of EU and Working Time Directive driver hours regulations.
• No DD, DR, DG or IN endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Load/transfer cargo onto vehicle and secure per instructions.
• Ensure cargo is packed and secured to avoid damage.
• Unload cargo safely and meet customer requirements.
• Complete all required paperwork per company and legal requirements.
• Comply with cargo handling and transport regulations, including hazardous goods.
• Communicate delays or problems to office as needed.
• Inspect vehicle and report faults to supervisor.
• Operate vehicle legally and safely, maintain tachograph compliance.
• Adhere to Working Time Directive and driving hours rules.
• Maintain safe working environment and adhere to procedures.
