Job summary

DSV is seeking a skilled HGV Driver Class 1 based in Purfleet for a tramping role with a guaranteed 48 hour minimum week. The job involves ferry trailer work across UK ports and depots, with nights out and meal allowances. You will operate MAN/ VOLVO/ IVECO trucks, load/unload cargo, and ensure paperwork and safety regulations are followed.

Applicants should have a Class 1 licence with limited points, CPC, and a valid digicard. Night out readiness and knowledge of EU/WTD hours are required.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence with up to 6 points.
• Valid CPC and Digicard are required.
• Knowledge of EU rules and WTD Driver hours is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Load and transfer cargo onto vehicle, secure as instructed.
• Ensure cargo is packed safely with no damage.
• Unload cargo safely and in line with customer requirements.
• Complete paperwork per company and statutory requirements.
• Comply with hazardous cargo regulations where applicable.
• Communicate delays or issues to office as needed.
• Perform checks on vehicle to meet legal requirements.
• Operate vehicle safely complying with tachograph rules and Working Time Directive.
