Job summary

DSV - Global transport and logistics is seeking an experienced HGV Driver Class 1 for a tramping role based in Wythenshawe. This position involves ferry trailer work across UK ports with nightly trips and a guaranteed 48-hour minimum week.

You will load, transfer, and secure cargo, complete paperwork, and ensure compliance with driving hours and safety regulations. A valid HGV1 license, CPC, and Digicard are essential, with night-out payments and meal allowances as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Holder of a valid HGV Class 1 license with up to 6 points.
• No DD, DR, DG or IN endorsements.
• Valid Digicard and CPC.
• Good understanding of EU and WTD driver hours regulations.

Responsibilities

• Load/transfer cargo onto vehicle, secure as instructed and avoid damage.
• Ensure cargo is packed and arranged safely with no damage.
• Unload cargo safely and per customer requirements.
• Complete all required documents and paperwork accurately.
• Comply with cargo regulations, including hazardous goods where applicable.
• Communicate with office about delays, issues and changes.
• Carry out vehicle checks and report faults to supervisor.
• Operate vehicle legally, maintain tachograph compliance.
• Adhere to Working Time Directive and driving hours rules.
• Follow SOPs and maintain a safe working environment.
