Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers for PM & Night shifts in Wellingborough on a temp to perm basis. You will handle PM and night routes, with responsibilities including securing loads, completing delivery paperwork, and performing basic vehicle checks.

Earn £18.11–£23.95 per hour, with an enhanced rate of £28.00 per hour on the 6th shift, and enjoy ongoing work through 2026 with training and benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence.
• Commitment to shifts/rotas.
• Ability to work safely alone.
• Strong time management and punctuality.
• Good understanding of UK drivers' hours.

Responsibilities

• Pre-loaded vehicles; no handballing.
• Ensure load is secure, including strapping down loads.
• Complete delivery paperwork accurately.
• Adhere to vehicle checks and safety procedures.
• Manage duties with focus on safety and timeliness.

The Best Connection are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers with our global logistics and supply chain company that operates both freight management and contract logistics. This is a ongoing opportunity with excellent earning potential and long-term prospects.

About the Role

HGV Class 1 PM & Night Drivers - Main duties and requirements are:

• Pre-loaded vehicles No handballing
• Ensuring your load is safe and secure including strapping down loads
• Completion of delivery paperwork
• Maximum 6 points accepted (No DD/ DR offences)
• Vehicle checks

Working Hours

• Minimum 8-hour shifts
• PM and nights available
• Flexiblility essesntial weekdays and weekends

Pay

• £18.11 - £23.95 after 18:00PM with 6th shift paid at £28.00 per hour
