Job summary

Uniserve is recruiting a reliable HGV Class 1 Night Driver for the South Kirkby operation. You will provide a safe, reliable, customer-focused Class 1 driving service with 12-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, including an unpaid hour break.

Responsibilities include deliveries, compliance with drivers' hours and tachograph rules, daily checks, and accurate documentation. A CPC and tachograph card are required, with strong knowledge of UK transport legislation and digital system usage.

Qualifications

• Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Valid Driver CPC and Digial Tachograph card
• Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation
• App-literate and confident using multiple digital systems
• Flexible approach to start times and workload
• Strong customer service focus

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles safely and professionally from the South Kirkby site
• Complete deliveries and collections in line with customer requirements and SLAs
• Demonstrate a strong customer-focused approach at all locations, as an ambassador for the business
• Adapt to varying start times in response to changing delivery schedules
• Accurately complete tasks across multiple digital systems, including TMS
• Ensure driving activity complies with Drivers’ Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive and Tachograph rules
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
• Complete paperwork and electronic records accurately and on time
• Communicate effectively with transport planners, supervisors and site teams
• Report defects, incidents, near misses, or accidents promptly
• Comply with all Health & Safety policies and site rules
• Take responsibility for personal and team safety
• Participate in toolbox talks, audits and mandatory training

Description

Uniserve is a leading provider of innovative supply chain solutions, delivering excellence across global logistics. We are recruiting a reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 Night Driver to provide a safe, reliable, and customer-focused Class 1 driving service from the South Kirkby operation.

Salary: £45,227 annum

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 12-hour shifts, including 1-hour unpaid break (11 hours working time)

Various start times to meet the needs of deliveries and operational demand

Flexibility is a key requirement of this role

Key Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles safely and professionally from the South Kirkby site
• Complete deliveries and collections in line with customer requirements and service level agreements
• Demonstrate a strong customer-focused approach at all customer locations, acting as a professional ambassador for the business
• Adapt to varying start times in response to changing delivery schedules
• Accurately complete all required tasks across multiple digital systems, including: Company compliance systems Transport Management System (TMS)
• Ensure all driving activity complies with: Drivers’ Hours Regulations Working Time Directive Tachograph legislation
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting in line with company procedures
• Complete all paperwork and electronic records accurately and on time
• Communicate effectively with transport planners, supervisors, and site teams
• Report defects, incidents, near misses, or accidents promptly.
• Comply fully with all company Health & Safety policies and site rules
