Uniserve is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Night Driver to join our Northampton operation. Join a team delivering safe, reliable, and customer-focused Class 1 driving services with overnight shifts, on-site at Northampton.

You will work Monday to Friday with 12-hour shifts and be part of a proactive transport team, ensuring high standards and compliance across digital records and daily vehicle checks.

Qualifications

• Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence is essential.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Solid knowledge of UK transport legislation.
• Experience with Transport Management Systems is desirable.
• Ability to adapt to variable start times and schedules.
• Reliable, punctual and safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles safely from the Northampton site.
• Complete deliveries and collections in line with customer requirements.
• Provide a professional, customer-focused service at all locations.
• Adapt to varying start times based on deliveries.
• Complete paperwork and digital records accurately.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and safety policies.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting.
• Communicate with transport planners and site teams.
• Report defects, incidents, near misses promptly.

Description

Uniserve is a leading provider of innovative supply chain solutions, delivering excellence across global logistics. We are recruiting a reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Night Driver to provide a safe, reliable, and customer-focused Class 1 driving service from the Northampton operation.

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 12-hour shifts, including 1-hour unpaid break (11 hours working time)

Various start times to meet the needs of deliveries and operational demand

Flexibility is a key requirement of this role

Key Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles safely and professionally from the Northampton site
• Complete deliveries and collections in line with customer requirements and service level agreements
• Demonstrate a strong customer-focused approach at all customer locations, acting as a professional ambassador for the business
• Adapt to varying start times in response to changing delivery schedules
• Accurately complete all required tasks across multiple digital systems
• Ensure all driving activity complies with Regulations & Legislation
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting in line with company procedures
• Complete all paperwork and electronic records accurately and on time
• Communicate effectively with transport planners, supervisors, and site teams
• Report defects, incidents, near misses, or accidents promptly
• Comply fully with all company Health & Safety policies and site rules
• Take responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others
• Participate in toolbox talks, audits, and mandatory training as required

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Required

• Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Valid Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph Card
• Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation
• App-literate and confident using multiple digital systems
• Flexible approach to start times and workload
• Strong customer service focus
• Experience working with Transport Management Systems (TMS) - Desirable
• Previous experience working to variable delivery schedules - Desirable
• Distribution or trunking experience - Desirable
• High attention to detail, particularly with compliance and digital records
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to high standards
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
