Job summary

Uniserve is seeking a reliable Class 1 Night Driver to safely transport goods and provide a high level of service to clients. The role involves long‑haul or regional routes with occasional overnight stays depending on scheduling.

Salary is £40,000 per year with a 4 on, 4 off 12‑hour shift pattern. The team emphasises safety, efficiency, and consistent, high‑quality performance across routes.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 Licence with a clean driving record.
• Minimum 1 year Class 1 driving experience (new passes considered).
• Ability to operate a range of trailer types.
• Strong focus on safety and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet delivery deadlines.
• Physically able to lift and handle cargo when required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 1 commercial vehicle safely and professionally.
• Transport goods to and from locations on schedule.
• Carry out pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip checks.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and inspection docs.
• Load and unload freight when required.
• Follow traffic laws, safety standards and company policies.
• Communicate clearly with dispatch and customers.
• Ensure cargo is secured and report issues promptly.
• Perform minor maintenance checks and report defects.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 1 commercial vehicle safely and professionally
• Transport goods to and from designated locations on schedule
• Carry out pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip vehicle and equipment checks
• Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and inspection documentation
• Load and unload freight when required
• Follow all traffic laws, safety standards, and company policies
• Communicate clearly with dispatch teams and customers
• Ensure cargo is secured correctly and report any issues promptly
• Perform minor maintenance checks and report vehicle defect

Requirements
