Job summary

Heron Foods is seeking a reliable HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. You will perform multi‑drop deliveries, assist in unloading at stores, and return pallets to the distribution centre.

You will be responsible for daily vehicle checks and reporting faults to keep operations running smoothly. The role requires a full Class 1 C+E licence, a valid DIGI tachograph card, and a solid understanding of road regulations.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Full and current Class 1 C+E driving licence.
• DIGI tachograph card holder required.
• Good knowledge of driving laws and regulations.
• Able to communicate clearly and follow written and verbal instructions; able to lift and manoeuvre medium to heavy loads.

Responsibilities

• Make multi‑drop deliveries and assist in unloading products and cages into stores.
• Collect stock and deliver to site; collect empty pallets and return to distribution centre.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report faults; ensure vehicle and on‑board equipment are in good order.

Tasks and Responsibilities of the HGV Class 1 Driver include

• Making multi drop deliveries and assisting in the unloading of products and cages into stores.
• Collecting stock and delivering to site.
• Collection of empty pallets, steel and cardboard from stores and returning to the distribution centre.
• Completion of daily vehicle checks and maintaining working order of company vehicles and any equipment on-board. Reporting of any vehicle damage or faults.

• Full and current Class 1 C+E driving license
• Must hold a DIGI tacho card
• Good knowledge of driving laws and regulations
• Able to communicate and clearly follow written and verbal instructions, able to lift and manoeuvre medium to heavy loads

Salary: up to £47,218.22 (plus overtime)

Shifts: 5 on 3 off. Shift starts at 4am

Applicants must hold a current Class 1 C+E driving license and ideally have a minimum of 6 months of Class 1 driving experience.

• £43,718.22 basic
